The value of collaboration

Navarra Venues has never lost sight of the fact that it was once a small business, a single venue. With an unwavering commitment to product and service quality, and a paramount focus on delivering an exceptional guest experience, the business is proud to have grown to be a medium sized enterprise and significant employer. Navarra Venues now owns and operates five substantial venues, four in Greater Sydney and one in the Southern Highlands, as well as a catering business.

Sal Navarra, the owner and CEO of Navarra Venues, recognises that when a small business is going well it will grow and benefit the entire supply chain and other local businesses “Like a ripple effect success breeds success. Whenever there is an opportunity to give back, whether through the Navarra Care Foundation or supporting not-for-profits and charities to host fundraising events, we are willing to assist.”

It was a privilege for Navarra Venues to be accepted by the NSW Government as an official Collaboration Partner during October for NSW Small Business Month 2024. In collaboration with Business NSW and local chambers of commerce three venues invited small business owners to attend, at no cost, engaging and informative Small Business Month events. The events were of a quality that no stakeholder could have delivered on its own. The collaboration was able to support economic development and economic growth. Each event was structured to have a component of experts imparting tips and advice on how to grow your business and networking. Signature Navarra hospitality, with food, beverages, and professional service, created fun and memorable events.

The first event hosted by Conca D’oro in collaboration with Business NSW and Business Chamber South, was named Preparing for the future. Guest Speakers included the Hon. David Coleman MP, Member for Banks, Mark Coure MP, Member for Oatley, Nick Ryan, Policy Manager of Business Western Sydney, and Tony Baddour, President of Business Chamber South. Insights were shared about strategic growth opportunities for South Western Sydney, infrastructure projects in the pipeline, and economic projections.

Curzon Hall hosted in collaboration with Business NSW, Macquarie Park Ryde Business Chamber (MPRBC), and Jay Productions, an event named Make your brand a gamechanger! A panel discussion was moderated by Randall Walker with expert panellists Matt Pound, GM Commercial & Marketing, Sydney FC, Ben Pike, Head of Media and Marketing, Business NSW, and Stefan Sojka, MD, Cyrius. Guest speakers included the Mayor of City of Ryde, Clr Trenton Brown, and the President of MPRBC, Soraya Raju.

On the back of recently hosting the Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence, Oatlands Estate also hosted the third and final event in collaboration with Business NSW, Parramatta Chamber of Commerce (PCC), and Showtime Productions, named Going For Growth Masterclass. A panel discussion was facilitated by Randall Walker with expert panellists including Julian Fayad, Founder & CEO, LoanOptions.ai, Margaux Everett, Founder & CEO, Australian Museum of Design, and Eric Tjoeng, Founder & CEO, Business Growth & Exit Specialists (BGES). The MC for the event was Romina Bousimon GM of PCC, and guest speakers included Donna Davis MP, Member for Parramatta, and Anthony Mazza, President of PCC. It is extraordinary to absorb that Western Sydney is home to nearly two thirds of all businesses in NSW and one third of the state’s population. There is an exciting upward growth trajectory with Western Sydney Airport due to commence operation in 2026.

The feedback from attendees was extremely positive. Every attendee from the events identified that they took away at least one concept or innovation that they would apply to improve the performance of their business.
