And just like that… another year draws to a close. And to say it was a tough year, would be an understatement. 2021 brought Navarra arguably even more challenges than 2020, as we tried to move forward from the standstill that COVID and lockdowns brought upon the wedding and events industry, Australia, and more specifically Sydney was hit again with another COVID outbreak and another 4-month shutdown (#lovethat).
But as we all know, (and love to say here at Navarra HQ) the Greater the Storm, the Brighter the Rainbow, and that could not be truer heading into 2022!Sydney is already well on its way to reponing all industries and the ceasing of capped number limits. What’s more? with a Freedom Day for all citizens well within our sights, it seems as though 2021 is going to end with a bang!
Despite all the difficultly and hardship in around pandemic related chaos, Navarra still managed to have a wonderful year, we have loved working with our clients and industry partners to create some amazing events spaces and a truly magical atmosphere, with of course, a touch of Navarra magic.

Montage x Piazza
This year saw some big moves happening on the bayside at our Montage location. In a step away from the wedding and event space, which we are well renowned for, Navarra introduced Montage Piazza. The piazza is a space where we bring quality food and traditional Italian cuisine to a casual setting. With a woodfire pizza oven installed and the cocktails following, Montage Piazza is set to be a highlight Inner West location for a quality dining experience with and an atmosphere that fits a Summer in Sydney vibe to a tee.
LUXE
2021 also saw one of our favorite collaborations to date. The ever -talented florist and event stylist extraordinaire, Melissa D ‘Cruz teamed up with Navarra to bring you LUXE. LUXE offers couples and client’s complete event, styling, and coordination services for both large scale wedding to intimate celebrations alike. The concept was born out of a genuine understanding of how each event is unique, and a willingness of both teams to reflective this individuality through tailored styling and concepts.
Podcast Rookies
Desperate times called for desperate measures, and while most if you were enjoying all your extra free time in lockdown and using the down time as a chance to rest and recharge, we kept ourselves busy. In a Navarra first, we tried our hand at podcasting and introduced the: “I Get Locked Down” Series. The series saw us interviewing some of our most experienced personnel on the impact of COVID outbreaks and subsequent lockdowns on the events and wedding industry and answer the pressing questions from our audience in helping them navigate and develop a roadmap as they postponed and replanned their events.
Navarra loves a Renovation
As hospitality and event space industry leaders, Navarra is always looking for ways to elevate our spaces to keep them as fresh as possible for our lovely and loyal clients. This year our flagship venue, Conca D’oro located in the heart of Riverwood, underwent some serious internal renovations, which have been recently completed. We are so excited to reintroduce this our fresh take on our classic venue. Head over to our socials to be the first to see Conca D’oro like you’ve never experienced before.
Location Scouting
If you can’t already tell, we don’t like to sit still here at Navarra (rather, we cannot sit still). Directors used their time in lockdown to scout for new spaces to open a SIXTH venue!
The brief was simple; Somewhere Different, Something Different.
If we do say so ourselves, we think they nailed this one. We have been quietly working hard behind the scenes to bring something unique and to the Navarra assemblage. It’s launching 2022, so keep an eye out on social media for this one.
